Always Best Care Oakville is pleased to announce that Angela Neufeld was the second runner up for the 2021 Caregiver of the Year award. The Caregiver awards recognize the Caregivers who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to the delivery of care to clients and their families while shining as an Always Best Care employee. Winners are chosen from over 200 franchises in the United States and Canada.

We are extremely proud of Angela’s accomplishment. Through the hard work of Caregivers such as Angela, we are focused on our mission to allow individuals to live safely in their homes with comfort, independence, dignity and joy.

At Always Best Care, we believe in providing community service where we live and work. On September 10, agency owner Steve Kelly was happy to participate in Acclaim Health’s “Dine in for Dementia” fundraiser. Acclaim Health is an Oakville non-profit which provides, among other services, a variety of dementia programs. Acclaim is raising funds to support a new, state-of-the-art building which will be a centre of excellence for dementia care in the province and is expected to open in 2021. Steve was happy to start the car and deliver meals from local favorite restaurant, Trattoria Timone, for supporters to enjoy in their homes, while enjoying the enclosed wine and participating in a virtual silent auction. The evening was a great success, raising over $400,000.

On September 30, Always Best Care owner Steve Kelly tightened the laces in his walking shoes to support an Oakville Meals on Wheels fund-raiser. Designed as a virtual event, participants could choose any activity – walk, run, hike, dance, or bike – and proceed to move at their own pace on the designated day. Steve, a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, joined other participants on the rainy day for a socially distanced walk at the local mall. Founded in 1976, Meals on Wheels has been delivering nutritious meals to residents of Oakville who are unable to attend to their own nutritional needs but wish to continue living independently in their community. Oakville Meals on Wheels offers more than meal delivery; they provide their clients with regular well-being checks and important social interaction which enables them to feel more secure and remain independent. Monetary donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations make all this possible. Steve is a proud supporter of the organization.
